LET US GO TO THE LORD IN PRAYER

Father, I come before you in the name of your son, Jesus Christ. Lord, you know all things. They are all before you like an open book. Who can hide their heart from your presence and your eye? The deeds of the most clever men are exposed before you. Your omniscience knows know bounds - and if it were not for grace, I would be of all men most terrified. But there is grace, abounding and glorious, poured out upon the weakest of men, and abounding to your glory.
Father, I praise you and I worship you; I thank you for all that you are and all that have done. There is no one like you in Heavens and on the Earth or under the earth. You are the King and there is no other. You are Savior and you share your glory with no one. Father, this day you know me and my great need of grace. Why am I here except that you called the weakest among men, the most ignoble among brothers, and that by your grace, often times, the lesser teaches the greater? That is always my case and I praise you. I worship you. Father, help us today, to the wind with eloquence, to hell with brilliant intellect, Father. Let the truth go forward. Let me be changed that the state of your church be more glorious. I pray for grace upon grace and mercy upon mercy for myself and for those who hear. Help us, Oh God, and we will be helped; and we will boast in that help in Jesus' Name. AMEN!!!

BE THE MASTER AND NOT THE SERVANT

Do you belong to a society? Yes, of course you do, then this affects you. We are one society affected by some trends, we get influenced or we tend to lean on some certain sides, be it a positive contribution to the society or a negative contribution. There are some certain aspects that influence us, making us want to change our ways. Some habits affect us, they are our weakness. We are going to talk about few things that affect us.
       a. Mobile Phones Dependency/ Addiction
       b. Living Beyond Our Means

      Mobile Phones dependency/ addiction

Most of us are in the shade of the cool canopy of mobile phone dependency, it has become like a god, more have to worship, serve at its altar. There are more than 20 million mobile phone users in the country, a larger percentage comprising of the youth; the young generation most of whom are teenagers. We have become addicted to our phones, we don't want them to be left behind, our heads are always bent, busy on the phone. Do you know what most high scholars do? for those who passed this stage  with me can understand what I mean here. If you don't, then you live in another world. When do their phones get to rest, only when they are in school! Wait until holidays come knocking. All those three months are usually compensated during the holidays, prove me wrong, dare and the mobile service providers will give an outcry, you have a plan to reduce their profits.

Fights usually break at home, not only between the parents but also between their faithful ones not for any tangible reason but chatting on phones most especially on the social sites. With the introduction of subscription to the daily items -on- net, most of the work stall at homes since the teenagers tense chatting, introduce a paragraph. Research shows that people who sex text have a chance, more than four to seven times to engage in sex often than those who don't. Once the teens are chatting, the house can burn up to the coach where they are sited before they realize the room is on fire. All the concentration is directed towards one place, though there are some teens who brag they are multi - taskers, they are still affected. Husbands and wives will find chat partners in chat rooms and this can lead to unfaithfulness.

The SMS has liked the construction of sentences, the reading culture was buried sometime back. Only a handful of teens do get time to read novels, plays and poems. Most are allergic to poetry and they only read them in exams or when revising for them. Our creativity has died. In an era where it should burning viciously wanting. Our composition and inshas (Kiswahili essay) are pathetic. My fellow Teachers, I pity you, the workload you have. I am sure you have ever come across some work mixed up with sheng. It keeps you burning with rage especially when you are a strong defender of our languages. I guess many teachers give their students compositions and 'inshas' to write after the holidays so that they can bring back to school for marking.

Research are nowadays done on the internet, projects are searched for on the internet, assignments done from internet, is this what digital means? Does digital kill the creativity and innovation in us? The phones are just like fife, a good servant but a bad  master. Don't let your life be defined by a gadget, a network. Bring yourself out and grow from it, don't allow yourself to be ruled by the phones with their connectivity to internet. Be the master and not the servant.          God bless you.

TAKE CARE AND BE INSPIRED BEFORE YOU EXPIRE.
